Signs the O-Ring Needs Replacing
- Replace the O-ring if it is flattened, cut, cracked, hardened, swollen or permanently distorted, or whenever the relevant cam-rod/bushing assembly is removed and the existing seal is questionable.
- Evidence of water contamination in the gear oil or oil leakage around the shift/cam-rod area should prompt inspection of this O-ring and the other lower-unit seals.
