Signs the Clamp Screw Pad Needs Replacing
- Replace the pad if it is missing, badly corroded, bent or distorted, has damaged threads, no longer pivots/seats correctly, or allows the clamp screw to contact the transom directly.
- Both clamp pads should be inspected whenever a portable or manually clamped outboard is removed from the boat.
