Coupling Compatibility
- The CLY is intended for standard 50 mm trailer couplings and is suitable for many common Australian boat trailer, box trailer, utility trailer and caravan couplings. The supplier specifically notes that the coupling must have the appropriate adjustment bolt at the front of the coupling head for this lock design to work correctly.
- The lock is fitted while the trailer is disconnected from the tow vehicle. The raised centre section occupies the coupling area while the adjustable U-shaped locking bar captures the coupling, making it difficult to connect the trailer to another tow vehicle.

Important Fitment Information
- Check the coupling design before purchase. The CLY does not automatically fit every 50 mm coupling simply because it accepts a 50 mm tow ball. The manufacturer's fitment information states that the coupling needs the appropriate adjustment-bolt arrangement on the front of the coupling head. It should therefore be checked against override-brake couplings, off-road couplings and other non-standard coupling designs before purchase.
