Signs the Gasket Needs Replacing
- Replace the gasket when the powerhead is removed from the drive shaft housing, or if you find exhaust leakage, water tracking, a torn or compressed gasket, deterioration around the bolt holes, corrosion at the mating surfaces, or damage caused during disassembly.
- A previously compressed gasket should generally not be reused after separating the mating surfaces.
