Signs the Fuel Pump Diaphragm Needs Replacing
- A deteriorated fuel-pump diaphragm may contribute to poor fuel delivery, difficult starting, hesitation, loss of power under load or inconsistent engine operation. During inspection, replace the diaphragm if it is hardened, cracked, stretched, torn, distorted or otherwise damaged.
- The 334-04007-0 diaphragm gasket and check valves should also be inspected whenever the pump is dismantled.
