The NGK DCR7EIX (Stock No. 2493) is an Iridium IX resistor spark plug featuring a fine 0.6 mm iridium centre electrode and tapered-cut ground electrode. Designed for excellent ignitability, anti-fouling performance and durability, it uses a 12 mm thread, 19 mm reach, 16 mm hex and 0.8 mm factory gap. It is suitable for engines specifically specifying DCR7EIX rather than the projected-tip DCPR7EIX.

Important Fitment Information
- Do not substitute DCR7EIX for DCPR7EIX merely because the thread, reach and hex dimensions match. The electrode projection is different.
- Also distinguish DCR7EIX from
- - DCR8EIX – colder NGK heat range 8
- - DCR9EIX – colder NGK heat range 9
- - DCPR7EIX – projected-tip Iridium IX
- - DR7EIX – 18 mm hex rather than 16 mm
Signs the Spark Plug Needs Replacing
- - Difficult starting
- - Engine misfire
- - Rough or unstable idle
- - Hesitation during acceleration
- - Reduced performance
- - Excessive carbon fouling
- - Fuel or oil contamination
- - Worn electrode
- - Corrosion
- - Cracked ceramic insulator
