Important Fitment Information

  • Confirm the engine model, year and serial number before ordering. BPR6EFS uses a 14 mm thread, 17.5 mm reach and tapered seat. Some engines within the same MerCruiser displacement family use a different spark plug depending on cylinder head, ignition system or production year.
  • Mercury also recommends checking the plug gap before installation even when the plug is supplied pre-gapped.

  • Replace or inspect the plugs if the engine develops hard starting, rough idle, misfiring, hesitation, reduced acceleration, increased fuel consumption, carbon or oil fouling, excessive electrode wear, corrosion or damaged ceramic insulation.
