How the Rocker Works
- In a tandem leaf-spring suspension, the centre rocker pivots as either axle moves vertically. When one wheel travels over a bump or depression, the rocker allows the connected springs to move relative to each other rather than operating as two completely independent fixed spring assemblies.
- This movement helps the tandem suspension accommodate changing road surfaces while maintaining the required spring geometry.
